Threaded flanges are a type of flange that makes use of threads to connect pipes. They can be treated as loose flanges during the design process. One of the notable benefits of threaded flanges is that welding is not required, and there is minimal additional torque applied to the cylinder or pipeline during deformation. However, the drawback is that threaded flanges tend to be thicker than other variants, making them somewhat more expensive. That being said, they are ideal for high-pressure pipelines where a strong and secure connection is required.
Threaded flanges are a type of flange that does not require welding. Instead, the inner hole of the flange is processed into a pipe thread, which can be connected to a threaded pipe. This makes installation and maintenance much easier compared to flat welding or butt welding flanges. The threaded flange is particularly useful in situations where on-site welding is not allowed.
When it comes to selecting a flange material, alloy steel is a popular choice due to its strength. However, alloy steel may not be easy to weld or have good welding performance. In such cases, using a threaded flange can be a viable alternative.
However, it is important to note that threaded flanges may not be suitable for all situations. For instance, when there are sharp temperature changes or when the temperature exceeds 260°C or falls below -45°C, it is advisable to avoid using threaded flanges as they may lead to leakage issues.
